Colour dark reddish brown.  Grain is interlocked or wavy with a medium to fine texture.  It works fairly easily.  Available in log form, which when quarter sawn produces the familiar stripey figure.  

We typically carry a good selection of premium grade Sapele for use in our Joinery. Sapele is currently only available in our timber yard. 

It is used in the manufacture of furniture, joinery, flooring, and boat building.
